Google signed its first registry agreement with ICANN

Google which applied for almost a record number of applications for new top-level domains has finally signed its first registry agreement will ICANN. The agreement is about .みんな domain which means “anyone”, “any” in Japanese. It’s supposed that domain names registration in it will be open to anyone.

Thus the number of officially registered top-level domains with ICANN has reached a number of 34. Meanwhile 96 Google’s other applications are waiting for the decision, one of which (for .search domain) hasn’t even gone throught the stage of initial evaluation.
