Israeli registrar strictly warned by ICANN

Israeli registrar company GalComm risks losing its accreditation with ICANN. The corresponding official warning has already been sent to the registrar.

The reason of the troubles was an incident happened this spring. In March American company Home Depot addressed the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) with a complaint for homedpeot.com domain name registered in GalComm. April, 21, In the frames of a Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) the WIPO jury stated the homedpeot.com domain name a cybersquatting case and stated redirecting the domain name to Home Depot company managing in ten-days period.

But this has never happened. Accroding to Whois data the homedpeot.com domain was liquidated in the beginning of April, even before the WIPO decision. After some time the domain name was again registrated by an individual with another registrar.

As an excuse of its actions, GalComm representatives declared that the domain name had allegedly been liquidated because of the detected mistakes at registration. But even if this is true, we can see a rude ICANN regulations violation: domain names which have been the case of investigation in the frames of UDPR, get into so-called quarantine and cannot be liquidated or re-registered before the decision is taken.

So now GalComm has to provide all the necessary documents on homedpeot.com domain name and explain its position before September, 10. Besides it has to pay the accredited fee to ICANN which has also expired. In case this will not be done or the explanations will seem not quite convincing, GalComm company will be refused registration with ICANN.
