Tucows has waived two new TLD applications

Tucows has announced the company’s third-quarter financial results, stating that the company has received a $370,000 refund – or two full refunds for two new gTLD applications – from ICANN.

A major player of the Internet services and software market, Tucows has received a $370,000 refund for two new generic top-level domain applications. The interesting part here is that the company has received a full refund, meaning that Tucows has waived its new gTLD applications before June 2012, when all applied-for domains were revealed by ICANN.

At the moment, Tucows continues to support its remaining four new gTLD bids, namely .group, .marketing, .media and .online. All these are also contested by other gTLD applicants.
