Peter Dengate Thrush quits his job as an executive chairman of Top Level Domain Holdings. Thrush is expected to leave the company in January 2013, with Fred Krueger, the company's CEO and former board chair, to replace him.
Dengate Thrush has joined Top Level Domain Holdings in July 2011, shortly after playing a critical part in approving new gTLD program as ICANN's chairman. His decision to join TLDH led to a conflict of interest within ICANN.
Previously, is was speculated that Dengate Thrush will work for TLDH until at least July 2014, with an option to buy some of the company's shares.
Top Level Domain Holdings is one of the biggest players on a newly emerged gTLD market. TLDH has applied for 70 new top-level domains, and its subsidiary Minds + Machines provides backend support for new registries.
