Operation Director of ICANN Akram Atallah informed that the system of applications for new TLDs TAS held 2091 applications to the date of April 12, 2012. Moreover, there are 214 more potential applications which have been registered in the system but not reconciled yet. We remind that on April 12 , several hours before the end of applications registr5ation the system of registration was cut off due to technical malfunction.
ICANN has received USD 350 million in fees for applications.
Akram Atallah also stated about sending notifications to those applicants who could be affected by the software glitch of TAS. The sending of notifications is planned to be completed on Tuesday 8 May after that a schedule of registration re-opening will be published. After reopening the access of applicants will be kept for at least 5 business days.
