In 2012, the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ introduced the practice of cooperating with organizations competent in detecting malicious activity in the Internet. These organizations have the necessary knowledge and skills for detecting websites with illegal content, collecting and reporting incidents of phishing, unauthorized access to information systems and spreading malware via domain names in .РФ and .RU. The Coordination Center granted these organizations the right to request accredited registrars to terminate domain name delegation for violating websites. Registrars also have the right to terminate domain name delegation upon requests from competent organizations.

A unique analytical resource, the Netoscope project aims at making the Russian domain space safer for users. Launched by Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ in 2012, Netoscope now allows data aggregation and analysis with respect to domain names addressing malicious resources in .RU, .РФ and .SU ccTLDs. The project website contains security information and analytical materials about the distribution of malicious resources in the Internet and progress in the exercise of anti-malicious activities. The website users can use an online domain check service and get reports on various types of malicious activities reported by the project partners.
