About the center

He started working in domain industry in 2001 at the Russian Institute for Public Networks (RIPN). After a unit of RIPN that dealt with domain registration was unbundled, Andrei Vorobyev became the director of public and government relations of RU-CENTER domain registrar. In 2015, Andrey Vorobyev has become the Director of Public Relations at Internet Development Institute. In October 2015, he has become the Director of the Coordination Center for TLD RU/РФ.

Over the years, he has become a well-known expert in Internet projects PR and legal support. He has several scientific publications devoted to the protection of rights of Internet intellectual property owners and issues of information security.

In 2012, Andrey was elected co-chairman of the RAEC Commission of hosting providers and registrars. Since 2014 he has been a member of ROCIT’s board.

He is a member of the ROCIT Board and the RANS Executive Committee, as well as the Expert Council of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Technology and Communications, and the Council on the Legislative Support of the Digital Economy Development under the Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly.

The General Meeting of Founders (GMF) is the supreme body of the Coordination Center. The GMF is responsible for the following issues:

1. identifying the priorities of the Coordination Center’s activities as well as the principles determining the organization and use of its property;
2. approving the procedure to convene a GMF and to prepare a draft agenda, as well as the Council regulations and the Council establishment procedure;
3. appointing and dismissing the Director, deciding to terminate or amend the employment contract with the Director, and appointing the Council’s initial members;
4. reorganizing and liquidating the Coordination Center as well as opening its representative offices and branches;
5. approving issues within the Director’s purview submitted for consideration;
6. appointing the auditor of the Coordination Center, as well as the election of the inspection commission and its chairman, or appointing the inspector.
