The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ has called for applications for the new cohort of its Youth Council. Young professionals aged 18 to 35 interested in internet governance, digital policy, and the development of internet technologies are invited to apply. The application period runs throughout August 23.
The Youth Council held its regular meeting on July 1, which focused on preparations for the Council’s incoming team work. Members reviewed the council’s performance during the first half of the year and approved a work plan for the months ahead.
One of the Council's key priorities will be developing proposals for participation in the 21st Internet Governance Forum (IGF 2026). During the meeting, members identified key themes and began drafting concepts for future expert sessions to be organized by the Youth Council and the Russian Internet Governance Summer School.
Participants also discussed plans to organize educational events jointly with the International Information Security School and MTUCI, develop new educational initiatives, and contribute to the Summer School, which will take place from July 13 to August 17. In addition, they reviewed the Council’s planned participation in major Russian and international conferences.
“The world is paying growing attention to involving young people in shaping the digital agenda. Today, young professionals are taking part in international expert discussions and putting forward initiatives of their own. The UN Internet Governance Forum, our national forum, and the Summer School are excellent examples of such platforms. The Coordination Center's Youth Council gives young specialists the opportunity to gain this experience and become part of the professional community,” Chairman of the Youth Council Andrei Aleinikov said.
The deadline for applications is August 23.
