The 37th international conference "Modern Information Technologies in Education" (ITO 2026) was held in Troitsk on June 24-25, bringing together over 400 educators and IT specialists from various regions of Russia and other countries.
The Coordination Center for TLDs .RU/.РФ acted as a partner of the conference, and Andrey Vorobyov, Director of the Coordination Center, co-moderated the plenary session.
The organization’s virtual exhibition booth, branded as the Coordination Center Academy, showcased the Center’s key educational initiatives, including professional development courses for teachers, educational projects for schoolchildren and university students, programs supporting linguistic diversity on the internet, master classes for IT professionals, educational publications, and other learning resources.
The Coordination Center also prepared several presentations, which are available as poster sessions in the conference participants’ personal accounts.
All presentations were specially prepared for the 2026 conference by Viktoria Bunchuk, Head of the Center’s Social Projects. The first presentation expands on the theme of the Coordination Center Academy virtual booth, providing a detailed overview of the Academy’s structure, content, and educational opportunities.
The second presentation, Balancing Digital and Traditional Education: The Experience of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ Through the Explore the Internet & Govern It Project Ecosystem, outlines key recommendations for developers of modern educational and social initiatives. These include developing hybrid learning models that combine digital and traditional educational tools, incorporating gamification and actively engaging young people, ensuring that educational materials are accessible to all user groups, supporting offline learning formats to improve access to education, and establishing mentoring programs for professionals working with children and youth.
The third presentation focused on promoting positive online content as an alternative to harmful or destructive content. Viktoria discussed the limitations of purely restrictive approaches and the importance of creating safe, engaging, educational, and socially meaningful online projects that naturally attract users, foster healthy digital habits, promote the acquisition of new knowledge and skills, and provide opportunities for creative self-expression. Such initiatives can be found within the .ДЕТИ domain, among other platforms. Viktoria presented its mission, objectives, and promotional opportunities, particularly for social and educational projects.
The Coordination Center also took part in the youth program of the conference: the Smart World Made by Children festival. The event showcased projects developed by schoolchildren and university students from cities across Russia. Participants presented their work live, covering topics such as programming, robotics, physics, software engineering, 3D modeling, web design, virtual and augmented reality technologies, as well as engineering and other IT disciplines.
All participants who presented projects at the youth conference will receive certificates worth 8,000 bonus points for the 15th Explore the Internet & Govern It nationwide online championship, which will kick off on September 15, 2026, and will focus on artificial intelligence and neural networks.
The events were jointly organized by the Bytic Foundation for New Technologies in Education, the Administration of Moscow’s Troitsk Administrative District, the Moscow Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development, and the Institute of Physics, Technology and Information Systems of Moscow State Pedagogical University; with the participation of Ascon, the NGO Coworking Center, the Domestic Soft Association of Russian Software Developers, and Troitsk Lyceum.
