Coordination Center experts help schools in Troitsk

In April and May, experts from the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ delivered Internet Safety Lessons at schools in Troitsk (Troitsk and Novomoskovsk Administrative Districts), engaging more than 500 students through lectures and hands-on exercises.

On April 23, at the invitation of the Troitsk District Youth Chamber, Coordination Center staff held an Internet Safety Lesson for 7th and 8th grade students at the Troitsk Lyceum and Gymnasium. Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center, and Yevgeny Pankov, a Coordination Center data analyst, led an informative cybersecurity session titled “Cyber Scam: How Not to Become a Sitting Duck.” Yevgeny Pankov outlined prevalent online fraud schemes and demonstrated how to identify fake websites and other cyber threats. Together with the students, the experts examined common tactics employed by online scammers, presenting real-world phishing examples and illustrating how readily fraudulent sites can be recognized.

Following the presentation, Andrey Vorobyev hosted a Study the Internet & Govern It! quiz. The teams competed for every point, showcasing a high level of digital literacy and knowledge of technology. Winners received commemorative gifts from the Coordination Center.

On May 6 and 7, Internet Safety Lessons were held at Moscow’s largest school – School No. 1392, which enrolls more than 15,500 students. Coordination Center experts visited five of the school’s buildings to deliver digital safety lectures to students in grades 6 through 10. Participants learned cybersecurity fundamentals and received valuable guidance from instructor Andrey Vorobyev, who addressed principles of safe online behavior, explained core information security concepts, and described methods for recognizing online threats, including cyber fraud schemes.

The session concluded with a Study the Internet & Govern It! game hosted by Andrey Aleynikov, Chair of the Coordination Center Youth Council. After prize awards, participants posed for a commemorative photograph with the event organizers.
