The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ is pleased to announce the launch of the 10th nationwide Family IT Marathon. Special competitions have been prepared for the jubilee season to inspire creativity. Families are encouraged to take part by showcasing how they spend quality time offline in the digital age.
The IT Marathon is traditionally organized jointly with the Academy of Innovative Education and Development, with the support of Rostelecom and the Smart Internet Foundation (.ДЕТИ domain).
This year’s theme is Digital Vacations. Participating teams are invited to submit a creative project – whether a video, infographic, or longread – demonstrating how their families unplug from devices and enjoy time together. Submissions will be accepted throughout May 11.
“According to a study Adults and Children on the Internet by Kaspersky Lab, presented in February at the 19th Safer Runet Week, 90 percent of primary school children begin using mobile devices before the age of seven, and nearly half of families spend their leisure time online. However, we believe that the digital world is only one dimension of life, the top of the iceberg. Isn’t the true magic of connection found in simple moments: long walks, family crafts, board games, cooking dinner together, reading aloud, or playing outside? Live interaction, shared discoveries, and genuine emotions create the warmest and most lasting memories,” said Viktoria Bunchuk, Head of Coordination Center Social Projects. “That is why we chose the theme of ‘digital vacations’ for this anniversary year. We invite participants to go beyond the screen and rediscover joy, inspiration, and meaningful experiences with loved ones.”
In addition to the main competition, participants can complete a bonus task and compete in the special category, Best Post about the Family IT Marathon. To enter, families should publish a social media post about the Marathon or their participation in it and submit it to the organizers by April 30.
The results of the 2026 Family IT Marathon will be announced on May 15, International Family Day.
Each winner in both the main and special categories will receive prize packages, including an OZON certificate worth up to 4,000 rubles, a set of useful printed materials and souvenirs, and a memorable certificate.
