Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ has become a partner of the fourth season of career guidance competitions “Mediaton”

The ceremony of summing up the results of the “Mediaton” career guidance competitions, which are considered the second most popular after WorldSkills in Russia, was held in Kosygin Park. 77 students, 8 teachers, 7 educational organizations were declared the winners of the competition.

In total, 87 schools were represented in the competition, the students from which competed at 34 base sites. All together, there were more than 1,000 students and almost 300 mentors from different parts of Russia. The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ has become a partner of the competition.

The fourth season of the “Mediaton” competition has begun in October 2021. The new season was conceived unlike the previous ones. Students from Moscow media classes have joined the project, for most of whom television journalism and video production are areas chosen for their future professional path. The structure of the competition has also undergone changes: organizers have introduced four leagues, it made it possible to divide the participants according to the level of knowledge, skills and experience. The leagues had various tasks and grading systems.

During the welcoming speech, the Rector of the Russian State University named after Kosygin, professor Valery Belgorodsky compared the fourth season with the previous ones: “In simpler terms, over the four years of its existence, “Mediaton” has become in demand, successful, and effective. And you can confirm this with numbers, which, as you know, do not lie. Over four years, the number of participants has increased by 650 people, the number of base sites has tripled, the maximum result obtained in all 8 rounds has increased by 53 points, and the average - by 131 points. As they say, comment is needless.”

The main task of the tours concerned the practice of reporting, and special tasks were devoted to the “packaging” of media content. As a result, the participants not only shot and edited videos, but also learned how to create intros and cutscenes, titles and synopses, intros and promos, backstages and video announcements.

In an hour and a half of the ceremony, it was possible to remember all the stages of the competition, see interesting fragments of the competitive works, and hear the parting words of the guests of honor. And most importantly - to find out who is honored to receive the long-awaited and well-deserved awards.

“Participants of the competition showed a fairly high level of skill and a great will to win. It is gratifying that today’s workers of the “media front” will be replaced by a worthy replacement, and that the “Mediaton” project is developing, allowing many children to realize their abilities and contributes to their professional development,” said Tatyana Novikova, project manager of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ.

Among the winners in the nominations were students from Moscow, Nizhny Tagil, Stavropol and Omsk. The winners in the “Mediatosh” League (tournament for the youngest participants) were the guys from the Moscow school 1358.

Gordey Gorchakov from the Zelenograd school 2045 won in the League "School Stage" (open to those who are just starting their career in television journalism). In total, more than 60 children competed at this Zelenograd site.

Students of the School in Kapotnya climbed onto the podium of the winners in the Classic League. Well, among the most experienced and successful participants who competed in the Master League, video makers from schools 1358 and 1329 were recognized as the strongest.

This year the “NASHpress” Editor-in-Chief Cup went to the city of Zarechny, Penza Region, and was awarded to the media volunteer of the project, Vadim Varnavkin, for his active and productive assistance to the organizers over several seasons.
