On May 19-21, the XXXIV All-Russian Forum of hosting providers and domain registrars "HostObzor" was held in the Leningrad Region. This time, the Forum brought together representatives of 27 companies participating in the HostObzor project, these are more than 50 top managers and specialists from Russian companies providing hosting and domain registration services.
The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ has traditionally acted as a partner of the event and held a section "News of the domain industry", which was moderated by the Deputy Director of the Coordination Center Andrey Romanov.
Director of the Coordination Center Andrey Vorobyev told the participants about the news of the domain industry, the events of the Center and the results of the domain section that took place the day before at RIF 2022.
Georgy Georgievsky, Head of the Department for Work with Registrars and Users of the Coordination Center, spoke about Universal Acceptance and the “Поддерживаю.РФ” project, and also shared the news of the Russian Working Group on Universal Acceptance. Vadim Mikhailov, consultant of the “Поддерживаю.РФ” project, made a report on the developed backup system for registering domains to improve the reliability and fault tolerance of top-level domains.
Natalya Kiseleva, an expert of the Coordination Center, presented a report on the work of the Domain Patrol project and shared current statistics on requests from competent organizations to registrars. Today, 12 competent organizations are involved in the project; in 2021, registrars received 11,637 requests from them, more than 90% of which are phishing. 10,946 resources (92%) that received requests were blocked, the response time of registrars to requests was on average 18-20 hours (the world average is 24 hours).
Ilona Stadnik, curator of youth projects of the Coordination Center, spoke about the youth projects of the Center and suggested that the forum participants delegate their young employees to the Youth Council of the Coordination Center.
There were also working meetings were with hosting providers and domain registrars on the readiness of the software they use for the Universal Acceptance of internationalized Internet identifiers.
