The Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ has announced a special category for the Runet Prize 2021: “For the development of small and medium-sized businesses.” Young businesspeople, startups, and small and medium-sized business owners who registered a domain in .RU/ .РФ and launched a website in 2021 can be nominated for this award.
According to a study conducted by the Coordination Center, “.RU and .РФ domains for Russian SMEs: Barriers and opportunities,” more than 80 percent of small businesses in Russia have their own website in .RU/ .РФ, and the overwhelming majority (89 percent) are satisfied with the choice of the domain zone. Among medium-sized businesses, almost 90 percent of study participants have their own website in .RU or .РФ; 90 percent of medium-sized businesses are satisfied with .RU/.РФ and claim that these zones turned out to be useful for them.
“The choice of .RU or .РФ for a site highlights the location of a business, showing that the company's activities are focused on Russia. We established this category in order to encourage domestic businesspeople who have achieved success and used the opportunities offered by having their own website. We invite young Russian businesspeople who launched their website in Runet in 2021 and are actively developing their businesses to compete in the category. I am sure that industry recognition is one of the milestones for any business,” Andrey Vorobyev, Director of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ, said.
You can apply for participation in the special category free of charge on the official website of the Prize, premiaruneta.ru, until November 20. The winners will be awarded on December 7 in Moscow.
The organizer of the Runet Prize 2021 is the Russian Association for Electronic Communications (RAEC). The event is supported by the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media.
