APTLD 80 to be held on September 6-9 online

On September 6-9, the Asia Pacific Top-Level Domain Association will hold APTLD 80. The online conference will be co-located with PacIGF, the Pacific Internet Governance Forum. National registries will come together once again to discuss internet governance, Pacific cybersecurity, digital transformation and e-service accessibility, as well as the best practices in DNS and IP address management among other topics.

Experts from the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ will take part in the conference. On September 9, Coordination Center Deputy Director Irina Danelia will speak at the session “Marketing: Registrants, Domainers, Cybersquatters. Building a Civilized Secondary Market for Domains in Asia Pacific.” She will share ideas on establishing a civilized secondary domain name market based on the latest discussions in Russia and talk about the Coordination Center’s activities in this area.

It is worth noting that APTLD 80 will be held on a unique and innovative platform, Virtual Event Platform (VEP). The platform will be accessible to registered participants only and will provide access to the conference’s schedule, discussion rooms, speaker details and presentations. Participants can also use the platform to ask questions, text and video chat with each other as well as the speakers, and even organize individual meetings.

Participation in APTLD 80 is free of charge, but registration is necessary.

The Asia Pacific Top-Level Domain Association (APTLD) unites over 50 national registries in the region, including registries of the largest ccTLDs: Russia, China, India and others. APTLD was created in 1998 and is one of the four regional ccTLD registry organizations. The association members have vast experience in developing national domain zones, coming up with advanced approaches to cybersecurity problems, ensuring the sustainability and stability of the national domain space governance system, and using the internet for socioeconomic development goals.
