Explore the Internet & Govern It project to join the Education Navigator platform

On September 1, Knowledge Day, it became known that the Explore the Internet & Govern It project of the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ will join the Education Navigator platform https://edu.asi.ru. The project has passed review and received a positive assessment from the scientific and methodological council of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI). The Education Navigator is an online platform featuring the best digital resources and practices for additional education created by the agency together with the Ministry of Education. It includes the best digital study materials and practices for additional remote education from the leaders in Russian online education.

The Explore the Internet & Govern It project is aimed at improving the digital literacy of students and schoolchildren. It helps users get acquainted with the history and structure of the internet in the form of a game, learn how to work with online services, and safely navigate the net. More than 150,000 users from all over Russia have already taken part in it.

The Explore the Internet & Govern It project has been added to the best digital additional education materials and practices together with three other new projects: the Project Lecture Hall educational platform, the Russian State Library’s mobile application NEB Light and the personal development program developed by the Contribution to the Future charity. The decision to place four more new resources on the Education Navigator platform was made following a meeting of the platform’s scientific and methodological council.

“Mobile applications for self-development and the search for corresponding materials as well as podcasts for parents, a guide on the development of up-to-date skills and other education products were presented at the meeting. The platform will still provide one-stop access to verified online education resources by gradually expanding its areas of work and sections. Cooperation with regional navigators of children’s additional education is one of such areas,” stressed Alexey Blaginin, deputy director of the ASI’s Young Professionals sphere.

Information on the new resources will also be published on the project’s special Telegram channel. It publishes important updates on the project’s implementation and education, and organizes voice chats with experts and the platform’s partners.

“Participation in the work of the Education Navigator means that more schoolchildren and teachers will get access to materials and practices that will help them to develop digital literacy and ICT skills as well as expand the way of using game elements in the education process. Promoting knowledge on the internet and boosting children and teenagers’ digital literacy is the main task of our project, and together with the online navigator, it will be addressed even more effectively,” noted Coordination Center Director Andrey Vorobyev.
