Top 100 Domain Sales Chart

The domain industry is summing up the results of 2019. The seemingly eternal Sex.com domain record was broken this year. The domain name was bought for $13 million in late 2010, and many analysts believed that this record was unlikely to get any better. But the nine-year record became history in June 2019 when Block.one blockchain company purchased the voice.com domain for a staggering $30 million. Although there are plans to use this domain for creating an entirely new social network, there has been no update on the project so far.

According to DN Journal, other top deals include California.com ($3 million), EKO.com ($1.5 million), TM.com ($1.25 million) and RX.com ($1 million). It should be noted that this implies official deals listed in open sources. Quite possibly, a list of the real most expensive domain purchases is somewhat different. Suffice it to recall that the fashion.com domain name was auctioned off this past fall in utmost secrecy. Well, the auction did take place, and the domain now has a new owner. However, the buyer and the deal’s sum remain under wraps.

The Viajes.es domain became the most expensive buy among national domains. Viajes means‘travel’ in Spanish. It was bought in July for $147,000 euros (just over $166,000). The DN Journal website lists all “old” domains, except .COM and new gTLDs, in one single category. The Casinos.org domain, bought for $400,000 in June 2019, leads the way here.
