Registration of second level domain names in RU is available only through accredited registrars. Coordination Center for TLD RU does not perform registrar's functions.
Registration policy is based on first-call first-served principle.
There are no limitations on residence; individuals are allowed to register
domain names under RU.
Domain names are registered for a period of one year. To keep domain name for the following year pass re-registration procedure.
Use Whois service to check availability of domain name.
Domain name should be 2-64 characters long, should not start or end with hyphen, 2 consequent hyphens are not allowed.
The registration of obscene words is also banned.
There is also a list of reserved names not available for registration.
